DESCRIPTION:The Lynchburg Road Runners Club and Type 1 Diabetes Experience (T1DE) have hosted this race to provide support for local families living with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. It has become a great community and family event. The proceeds from this race have helped with education on diabetes management\, nutrition education and cooking demos\, community support groups and even camps for children with Type 1 Diabetes. The Memorial Day 10K is the 7th race in the 2024 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series.

Dr. Stephenson was one of the founding pediatricians of Richeson Drive Pediatrics. Now Lynchburg Pediatrics. He promoted healthy children and being active outside. When he died at a young age a memorial race was started to honor his passion for promoting healthy lifestyles. \nRace distances and courses are….3 & under 1/8th mile\, 4-5 yrs old 1/4 mile\, 6-7 yrs. old 1/2 mile\, 8-13 yrs. old 1 mile. DESCRIPTION:Start your 4th of July celebration with Percival’s Island Firecracker 5 Miler! \nLynchburg is known as the “Hill City”….but this course is flat\, flat\, flat.  The start finish is located at the Blackwater Creek Natural Area Percival’s Island in downtown Lynchburg and the course follows the Blackwater Creek Bikeway…a paved rails to trails path along the James River. A bit longer than a 5k but without the effort of a 10k\, 5 miles is considered by many the perfect distance.

A bit longer than a 5k but without the effort of a 10k\, 5 miles is considered by many the perfect distance.

SUMMARY:Memorial Day 10K & 2 Mile Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Lynchburg Road Runners Club and Type 1 Diabetes Experience (T1DE) have hosted this race to provide support for local families living with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. It has become a great community and family event. The proceeds from this race have helped with education on diabetes management\, nutrition education and cooking demos\, community support groups and even camps for children with Type 1 Diabetes. The Memorial Day 10K is the 2nd race in the 2022 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series.

DESCRIPTION:The historic Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler will celebrate its 47th year on September 24-25\, 2021. Join more than 4\,000 runners on a historic course that has hosted participants from around the globe. The 10 mile run\, 4 and more mile run/walk\, and Amazing Mile Children’s Run invite men\, women\, and children of all ages and abilities to participate. \nThe festivities begin Thursday night with packet pick-up\, and continue Friday with the Amazing Mile Children’s Run\, and a fun\, family-friendly festival in downtown Lynchburg. \nOn Saturday\, thousands will take part in the 10 mile run and our 4 and more mile run/walk (NEW COURSE). The Lynchburg Road Runners Club\, founded in 1973 to organize the Virginia 10 Miler\, continues to own and organize the Moore & Giles 10 Miler and its associated events.
