SUMMARY:Lighten-Up Lynchburg 5k Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:Lighten-Up Lynchburg is a timed 5K Run/Walk to encourage activity and increase awareness about the obesity epidemic. This race is hosted by the Lynchburg Mayor’s Youth Council\, and a portion of the money earned will go towards raising obesity awareness. \nThe 5K will take place at Peaks View Park–a very flat course\, so predict fast times! Please park at either the Ardmore or Tenbury Drive entrance. \nPacket Pickup will take place at Riverside Runners on Friday\, March 6\, 2020 from 12-6pm\, and Saturday\, March 7\, 2020 from 9-9:30am at Peaksview Park. Registration will be available during these times as well. The race will begin at 9:30 am. \nAwards will be given to the top three male and female finishers\, as well as the top two finishers\, male and female\, for each of the following age groups: 12 & Under\, 13-18\, 19-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60 & Up. \nT-shirts are guaranteed to everyone who registers by February 7\, 2020. DESCRIPTION:Starting at SnoFlex\, The  King of the Mountain 2 mile challenge is a trail run that will challenge the mountain goat in all of us. Mile one is a quad buster down hill for approximately 1 mile and then….goes straight up the side of Liberty Mountain to our mountain top finish! The view is amazing! This event is presented by Liberty University Outdoor Recreation.
