DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 17th annual Point of Honor 5K.  This event raises awareness for organ and tissue donation\, as well as providing funds to LifeNet Health\, a leading enabler of the organ and tissue donation process.   \nThis year’s event will take place starting in Downtown Lynchburg\, with race HQ at the Depot Grille.  The start and finish line are just a short walk away from this location.   \nDue to anticipated work on the Blackwater Creek Trail\, the utilized course for 2026 is still under consideration.  Upon final determination\, a course map will be provided.  Note that the course will start and finish at the Depot Grille adjacent locations\, with the majority of the course utilizing the Blackwater Creek Trail. \nWALKERS ARE WELCOME!\nPETS & STROLLERS ARE PROHIBITED.\nCOME FOR THE FUN\, DOOR PRIZES\, AND FOOD!\nAPRIL IS NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH!

DESCRIPTION:The Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association\, The Danville Running and Fitness Club\, and Danville Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce the 16th Annual Bridge2Bridge 5K\, 10K\, Kids Fun Run\, and new in 2024 a HALF MARATHON. Virtual options are also available. \nDuring its history\, Bridge2Bridge Danville has raised over $900\,000 benefiting cancer patients within Danville and Pittsylvania County. In our most recent race\, over 600 individuals participated helping Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer raise over $60\,000! \nDanville-Pittsylvania Cancer is a local 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides assistance to cancer patients by providing travel reimbursement\, prescriptions\, nutrition\, medical supplies and equipment\, prostheses\, and wigs\, as well as emotional\, and educational support.

SUMMARY:6th Annual United Way 5k on the Runway
DESCRIPTION:The United Way 5K on the Runway\, is perfect for participants of all ages who are able to complete 5K in 60 minutes or less. The course is flat and fast. The course follows the taxiway parallel to the main runway. Come out\, join the fun\, support United Way of Central Virginia\, and see Lynchburg Regional Airport in a whole new way! There is a 600-person and 60 minute time limit for the event.  Proceeds from this event support the mission of the United Way of Central Virginia.
