SUMMARY:14th Annual Percival's Island 5-Miler
DESCRIPTION:Race #5 of the Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series. Lynchburg is known as the “Hill City”….but this course is flat\, flat\, flat.  The start finish is located at the Blackwater Creek Natural Area Percival’s Island in downtown Lynchburg and the course follows the Blackwater Creek Bikeway…a paved rails to trails path along the James River. A bit longer than a 5k but without the effort of a 10k\, 5 miles is considered by many the perfect distance. Registration opens March 1st.

DESCRIPTION:“Fun for Everyone” at the Lynchburg Road Runners Summer Track Series. You don’t have to be a Lynchburg Road Runners member to participate. A variety of running events are offered each Monday in June at Randolph College’s outdoor track (2500 Rivermont Avenue\, Lynchburg\, VA 24503).  All ages and all abilities are invited. With the exception of the 1 mile and 2 mile events\, all races are in meters. Cost for participants is just a dollar. Each year over 120 children attend camp and about 25% receive help through the Scholarship fund. The event has helped over 50 children annually to be able to attend camp. The event will feature color being thrown on all willing participants and lots of other fun.
