More than a sports movie\, Spirit of the Marathon is an inspirational journey of perseverance and personal triumph; a spectacle that will be embraced by runners and non-runners alike. Following the film\, a short a Q&A discussion session will be hosted by a local running professional. Youth under age 15 must be accompanied by an adult. SUMMARY:Sci Fest Randolph College Pi Run
DESCRIPTION:March 14 is Pi Day! Join us for a 3.14 mile FUN run/walk and pie for all! Free and open to the public. Pi Day represents the first three digits of Pi and is Einstein’s birthday. This is not a timed event. \nWe will start at Randolph College’s Wildcat Stadium (on the outdoor track) at 6:00 pm sharp. The first 150 registered get a free t-shirt and all finishers get a piece of pi(e)! \nThe course is GPS measured and runs from the track to Norfolk Avenue\, Rivermont Avenue\, and turn around at the stop sign at the top of VES. Trace your way back\, and finish with a half lap on the track. This is a funrun and traffic will not be stopped. You must stay on sidewalks the whole way and give way to traffic at intersections. We will ask you to sign a waiver when you arrive\, and this will entitle you to your free t-shirt and the opportunity to win door prizes! \nThere is a little parking right by the track\, but plenty of parking by the adjacent athletic building (on Norfolk Avenue). \nWe will run rain or shine! In extreme weather (lightning or ice)\, check the I Love Randolph Science Facebook page for status. \nDon’t miss it\, it will be great fun to run and apprecate pi(e).
