DESCRIPTION:Become a SUPER HERO and participate to support CASA of Central Virginia. This event has become a Fall tradition for many. Superhero costumes for both the 5k run & walk and children’s 1 mile events are encouraged. All races and festival are located at Percival’s Island and courses are on the Blackwater Creek Bikeway. \n⭐️ The 11th Annual CASA Superhero Run \nPowered by CMA’s Lynchburg Dealerships\nRegistration opens May the 4th… because the Force is strong with CASA. \nIt’s time to suit up and choose your side—cape or cloak\, superhero or Jedi\, Rebel or Resistance. Whether you’re flying solo like the Millennium Falcon or bringing your whole crew of defenders\, this high-energy\, family-friendly event benefits CASA of Central Virginia and supports our mission to advocate for children in foster care. \nFrom the swiftest runners in the galaxy to our legendary Couch Crusaders\, there’s a place in this adventure for everyone. \n \n🏃‍♂️ 5K Run: Lightspeed Heroes \nFor those with the speed of The Flash and the focus of a Jedi\, our 5K run is professionally timed and packed with power. Runners will receive a race shirt (or cape)\, swag bag\, and finisher medal. May the Force be with you as you take off at 10:00 AM from the Percival’s Island Trail launchpad in downtown Lynchburg.\nNote: Start time is slightly later to account for early morning frost on the bridge—turns out even Jedi tread carefully on icy terrain. \n \n🚶‍♀️ 5K Walk: Jedi Pathfinders \nPrefer to take your mission at a more mindful pace? Our 5K Walk is perfect for walkers who want to suit up and support CASA while enjoying the journey. You’ll still receive a shirt or cape\, swag bag\, and finisher medal\, and your time will be officially recorded.\nStart time is 10:05 AM.\n(No age group awards—this is a non-competitive walk through the galaxy.) \n💥 Combined race cap of 550 across 5K run and walk events—secure your place in the rebel fleet before registration closes! \n \n🦸‍♂️ Kids 1 Mile Fun Run: Younglings in Training \nCalling all Padawans (ages 12 and under)! Your mission: complete the 1-mile course and earn your cape and finisher medal. Training begins now—by race day\, you’ll be ready to sprint through hyperspace!\nThe fun run is untimed and begins at 11:45 AM from Percival’s Island Trail. \nWave 1 – Younglings (Ages 12 years old & younger)\, Adults are not allowed to run with their child in Wave 1. Parents\, be sure to pick up your security bracelet for child check-in/check-out at packet pickup. \nWave 2 – Younglings (12 & under) and a parent (no parent registration needed)\, may run/walk alongside their young Jedi.* —Parents\, be sure to pick up your security bracelet for child check-in/check-out at packet pickup. \nWave 3:  Strollers and a parent or guardian (no parent registration needed)* \n*One additional parent/guardian can be added to a registration with the purchase of a ticket ($5.00) made during registration. \n⚠️ Race cap:  The combined race cap for the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is 250.
