DESCRIPTION:Start your 4th of July celebration with Percival’s Island Firecracker 5 Miler! \nRace #5 of the Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series. Lynchburg is known as the “Hill City”….but this course is flat\, flat\, flat.  The start finish is located at the Blackwater Creek Natural Area Percival’s Island in downtown Lynchburg and the course follows the Blackwater Creek Bikeway…a paved rails to trails path along the James River. A bit longer than a 5k but without the effort of a 10k\, 5 miles is considered by many the perfect distance.

Been celebrating a bit too much this holiday season? Need to get that last minute shopping done? No worries! Just come out and run as much as you care to that day! As always\, we will have our yearly shirt swap which allows folks to clean out their closets and drawers and maybe find a new owner for some poor unused shirt! Please donate only like-new or very gently worn shirts! Any unclaimed shirts will be donated to charity. Baked goods\, hot chocolate\, cider\, or any other type of post-run food/drink would be appreciated! If bringing something to share\, please indicate what so we don’t end up with a dozen fruitcakes and no chocolate chip cookies! Gatorade will be provided. Festive holiday attire is encouraged! Event is held rain\, shine\, snow\, sleet…you get the idea! Fine Print: This is a no fee event and one does not have to be a member of the Lynchburg Road Runners Club (LRRC) to participate so bring your family and friends! While this event is sanctioned and promoted by the LRRC\, it is a “run at your own risk” event. Runners MUST stay on the sidewalks and not run in the roadway except as necessary for crossing the street! Please be cautious of vehicles when crossing streets\, watch out for one another\, and be courteous to other runners and walkers on the sidewalks. THIS IS NOT A RACE!

DESCRIPTION:Start your 4th of July celebration with Percival’s Island Firecracker 5 Miler! \nRace #4 of the Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series. Lynchburg is known as the “Hill City”….but this course is flat\, flat\, flat.  The start finish is located at the Blackwater Creek Natural Area Percival’s Island in downtown Lynchburg and the course follows the Blackwater Creek Bikeway…a paved rails to trails path along the James River. A bit longer than a 5k but without the effort of a 10k\, 5 miles is considered by many the perfect distance.

DESCRIPTION:The Virginia Commonwealth Games will host the The State Games of America for 2019. This is an Olympic-style event featuring competition between State Games medal winners (gold\, silver\, bronze) from across the nation. There are currently 30 states conducting or organizing statewide sports festivals known as State Games. \nParticipants throughout the state of Virginia AND State Games qualifiers are invited to challenge themselves on this 5K (3.1 mile)  road course\, touring the campus of Liberty University. \nThe State Games of America 5k is also part of the 2019 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series.
