On May 5th\, 2016\, we started serving nutritious lunch meals to anyone who has a need for a meal that day during lunchtime. NHN Volunteers prep and serve lunches twice a week.

DESCRIPTION:Lighten-Up Lynchburg is a timed 5K Run/Walk to encourage activity and increase awareness about the obesity epidemic. This race is hosted by the Lynchburg Mayor’s Youth Council\, and a portion of the money earned will go towards raising obesity awareness. \nThe 5K will take place at Peaks View Park–a very flat course\, so predict fast times! Please park at either the Ardmore or Tenbury Drive entrance. \nPacket Pickup will take place at Riverside Runners on Friday\, March 6\, 2020 from 12-6pm\, and Saturday\, March 7\, 2020 from 9-9:30am at Peaksview Park. Registration will be available during these times as well. The race will begin at 9:30 am. \nAwards will be given to the top three male and female finishers\, as well as the top two finishers\, male and female\, for each of the following age groups: 12 & Under\, 13-18\, 19-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60 & Up. \nT-shirts are guaranteed to everyone who registers by February 7\, 2020. More people are running now more than ever and we want to help fill the void of cancelled races through the Lynchburg Road Runners Strava Segment Series.  \nWhat is it?  \nParticipants will be challenged to complete a different strava segment in the Lynchburg and Forest area each week. The new segment will be announced Friday morning and participants will have until the following Thursday to complete.  \nAre there Prizes?  \nYes!! Our sponsor Riverside Runners will be giving away a $25 gift certificate every week and there will be a grand prize of a pair of shoes given away at the end of the series.  \nWhen?  \nWeekly starting May 29 through July 9th \nHow do you participate? \nJoin the Lynchburg Road Runners strava group: edit the strava club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/265067  \nRun or walk the segment during the week period.  \nRunners will get an entry for the free pair of shoes for each week completed and a chance to win the weekly prize of a $25 gift certificate to Riverside Runners.
