SUMMARY:6th Annual United Way 5k on the Runway
DESCRIPTION:The United Way 5K on the Runway\, is perfect for participants of all ages who are able to complete 5K in 60 minutes or less. The course is flat and fast. The course follows the taxiway parallel to the main runway. Come out\, join the fun\, support United Way of Central Virginia\, and see Lynchburg Regional Airport in a whole new way! There is a 600-person and 60 minute time limit for the event.  Proceeds from this event support the mission of the United Way of Central Virginia.

Choose from routes ranging from 27 to 100 miles\, each offering camaraderie\, scenic views\, and a challenge fit for every rider. Whether tackling the rolling hills or conquering the 13-mile ascent to Apple Orchard Mountain\, this ride is fully supported with rest stops\, SAG support\, and cue sheets. Proceeds benefit the YMCA of Central Virginia’s Annual Fund\, helping ensure that no one is turned away due to financial hardship.
