DESCRIPTION:The Virginia 10 Miler is excited to invite the public to the launch of the long awaited book capturing the 50 year history of the event. Author Bret Boman will give a special presentation at 5:30pm. Copies will be available for purchase and autograph. Light refreshments served. \nThe event highlights the LYH Museum exhibit\, “500 Miles – 50 years of the Virginia 10 miler”. See the history of the event in pictures\, words\, video and artifacts. \nThe event is part of LYH First Fridays\, free\, and open to the public. 901 Court St (across the street from the TOP of Monument Terrace).\nThe exhibit runs August 2 – Oct. 31st.

SUMMARY:Olympic Gold Medalist Cole Hocker Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Olympic gold medalist Cole Hocker will be a Special Guest for this year’s Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler. Representing the United States at the Paris Olympic Games this past summer\, Hocker shocked everyone but himself by winning the Men’s 1\,500m with a thrilling finish. His time of 3:27.65 is now the Olympic record for the metric mile.\nOlympian Cole Hocker will give an inspirational presentation to the community on Thursday\, September 26th at E.C. Glass High School Auditorium at 6:00pm. The event is free and open to the public and a special opportunity for local sports teams.\nThe 23-year-old\, Indianapolis\, Indiana native\, holds multiple\, USA Track & Field\, national titles including four in the 1\,500m and one in the 3\,000m. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games\, Hocker finished sixth in the 1\,500m.
